Tiger, Meet the Lion!

Goodday Everyone,
Today I actually awoke before noon, and am still going strong 15 hours later. This is pretty good, because usually I am pretty tired, but that is OK. I had an awesome day, start to finish. My Uncle Jeff woke me up with a chicken parm sandwich to start the day, and let me tell you that any day I wake up with food is a good day.
After that, I shaved for probably the last time. I tried to be cool and shave a straight up Fu-Man-Chu, but after I did it, and I took my time in doing it, I wiped the outline with my hand and part of it fell out. Here I am, sitting in front of a mirror, with a half of a Fu-Man-Chu. I looked like the result of a prank. Bad karma for all of those i have committed I guess. So, I ended up going with the traditional Mr. Clean look, which, I guess most people think it looks good, so I will run with it.
By 3, I was at a Par 3 with my buddy Mike. Now, I will have to tell you the whole scoop on Mike later on, and it is another long story, but I will have to make sure that is done on a day when there is not so darn much to talk about. Well Mike decided to leave our clubs at home, because the rental clubs at the Par 3 are better to…have fun with. So we get there and the clubhouse thing is closed and there is a sign saying: “We will collect when you are out on the course, sorry there are no clubs to rent.” Well sitting there were two sets of clubs, 9-irons and an accompanying putter. So, we decided to borrow some balls that were errantly hit on the neighboring driving range and there we are at the first tee ready to have a good time…Only then we realized that those clubs were left-handed. Yes, try golfing left-handed. It was comedic. I mean it was the hardest I must have laughed in a long time. I was not too bad though. In fact, I actually laid one up one foot from the hole and tapped in my birdie putt…I would love to see Mr. Tiger Woods do that one lefty. I should tell Gatorade to give me my own line- Lion. My motto will be: Putting balls in cups while attempting to keep mine out of a surgical cup. Big time seller.
Golf left us with an appetite, so we went to a Mexican place that was about as authentic as you could get. I actually had my first chimichanga (spelling considered) and it was delicious. Now I know why they make a big deal about those things in Meet the Fockers. They are amazing. Of course you probably all know that, and I am sure I am the one missing out, but hey, first time for everything.
Anyways, after that I went and got my lift on, hit up some shoulders, then met up with Mike’s father and ended up conversing for about four hours on many different philosophical, religious, and psychological realms. All of this while tasting varieties of cheese. I did learn that cheese actually tastes better when it is sliced thin. It is a much sharper taste. To further enhance the taste, you should eat your cheese at room temperature. If I am the only one that found this out, better late than never. If this is news to you as well, trust me, coming from someone who is a food connoisseur, its quite awesome.
And that leads me to here. Tomorrow, or well I guess today is Friday. Tomorrow marks one month since being diagnosed. I guess I will have to come up with some special edition or something. Is it strange that I look forward to the weekend, even though on my light chemo weeks I kind of have all day to do really whatever anyways?? I think it is a natural thing for everyone to be like, “hey, its the weekend.” Even when there is nothing to do, like the summertime, when I was at home, I would always look forward to the weekend, don’t know why. Even in the summers when I did not have a job, the weekend was like THE TIME to do stuff. I guess it is just the nature of the beast. Anyways, it is Friday and I am glad you could all stick by me for another week.
Right now I feel so good it is like I am not even sick. I do not feel sick. Maybe a little sick in the head, but I guess that is to be expected. My mother actually jokingly questioned the doctor about my brain after the CT scan was done. She asked if they found any abnormalities. I am glad they didn’t go back and check.
One more thing before I let you all wander back to the rest of your day. I had a new article come out in the Cornell Daily Sun. The link is http://cornellsun.com/node/30200, and it is written by the sports editor and from someone who has read the blog from day one: Josh Perlin. It is a wonderful piece in all aspects and I encourage you all to check it out. It gives a different perspective to this, and for me was neat to see how the perspective of the situation varies from my position to the position I guess many of you have in reading and following along. Thank you.
God Bless,
Adam Frey

Josh Perlin speaks for us all. What he says about you is exactly how I feel myself. Having recently gone though something personal with my son, who is your age and also a wrestler, I found strength in your words and actions. I have been walking in a fog for months because of what happened to my son. You have shown me a light, a light I didn’t think I wanted to look for. I look forward everyday to your blog as it makes the light brighter each morning.
Thank you Adam Frey for helping a mom get her rhythm back, helping a mom learn to trust in life again.

They came….
He pushed them
They flew.”
